When India batted first, Ishan Kishan (1) was lost early, but players like Shubman Gill (46), Rahul Tripathi (35) and Suryakmar supported the guests at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium with a barrage of big hits.

Suryakumar Yadav then came in to showcase a powerful innings which included almost every experimental shot from SKY’s bat. Yadav found his third century in the shortest format.

Suryakumar Yadav’s 51-ball 112 in the third and final T20I match against Sri Lanka on Saturday made him just the second Indian batter to record more than two centuries in that format.

After scoring 117 against England in July 2022 and 111* against New Zealand in November 2022, this is his third T20I century. He did this by passing teammate KL Rahul, who has two centuries, to become the second-highest Indian with centuries, just behind Rohit Sharma, who has four.

“I’m really happy with the way the innings went. Captain winning the toss and batting first showed faith in the batters, few shots are pre-determined, but these are the shots I’ve been playing over the last year and I’m not doing anything different. The 2022 form is gone, it’s a fresh start in 2023 and I hope to continue doing well. It’s a good pitch, nice bounce and a lush outfield,” said Suryakumar Yadav.
