After taking a short break from cricket, Suryakumar Yadav returned in his dominating arena of T20 format but unfortunately failed to perform in his first game of the year as Sri Lanka bagged in their second wicket.

In the ongoing T20 series between India and Sri Lanka, India lost two of their significant wickets in the 1st T20.

Similar to Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav got out because of his shot selection but with Ishan Kishan carrying the responsibilities from one end, the Wankhede crowd can still expect a tough total for Sri Lanka.

Earlier in the game, Gill’s poor shot selection proved costly for India as it resulted in an early wicket and a poor start in the T20I format for the debutant. Gill was unfortunate to depart early on his debut, and fans had hoped for a strong partnership with Ishan Kishan.

Wicket commentary: ‘Karunaratne bowls to Suryakumar Yadav and he is caught by Rajapaksa!! This is a big wicket as Suryakumar Yadav falls to his favorite scoop shot for the first time in a long while. The ball was full and just outside off-stump. Suryakumar Yadav gets low and tries to scoop it, but he gets under it too much and it’s lobbed straight to the fielder at short fine. This is a huge wicket for Chamika Karunaratne to take in his first ball. Suryakumar Yadav usually hits that shot over fine-leg for six and a long way back, but tonight was a rare instance when he misplayed it.’

Brief Score – India at 41/2 after 6 overs
