IND vs SL 1st T20: Debutant Shubman Gill disappoints, poor shot selection costs India an early wicket

Shubman Gill finally received his T20 cap and became one of the top players to have the opportunity to represent India in all three formats. In the ongoing T20 series between India and Sri Lanka, Gill made his debut in the 1st T20 at the Wankhede Stadium.

However, Gill’s poor shot selection proved costly for India as it resulted in an early wicket and a poor start in the T20I format for the debutant. Gill was unfortunate to depart early on his debut, and fans had hoped for a strong partnership with Ishan Kishan.

Umpire Anil Kumar Chaudhary made a wise decision after Shubman Gill misjudged the length of Theekshana’s second delivery, went back to pull, missed, and was struck in the back thigh. The delivery skidded on like a flipper from a leggie. Gill read the spin but made a poor choice of shot selection, resulting in an early wicket for India.
