Ind vs SA: South African bowlers send Virat Kohli’s men back to pavilion on the first day

Virat’s standout performance of 79 managed to get team the score of 223, but can Indians bowl South Africans out in quick succession?

India’s first innings of this final Test match comes to an end with Umesh Yadav staying not out for 4 runs. India managed to achieve 223 runs, with 10 overs remaining for the day. Virat’s 79 and Pujara’s 43 excited the hopes for Indian fans and helped team to reach a competitive score. Pujara fell 7 runs short for another half century, while Virat who seemed to pull off a century, was dismissed by Rabada.

Ajinkya Rahane’s poor form continues while Rishabh, Mayank, KL Rahul failed to face the Protea-pacers. Ashwin’s talks about scoring runs gave hope for a better finish down the line, but Marco’s consistency bagged him Ashwin’s wicket. Birthday coach, Rahul Dravid was probably hoping for a better score, but South Africa grabbed the opportunity well enough to blow down wickets in three sessions.

South Africans have to come and bat as 10 overs for the day is left. India with four quick seamers and one in-form spinner is all set to walk back in field with ball in hand. Umesh Yadav got a chance in replacement of Mohammed Siraj, who faced an injury. Umesh can grab this opportunity to gain his form back and get his place back in the 11. Kohli’s men look confident to bowl out South African in quick succession, but the wonderful performance by the batsman of South Africa in the last Test seems to bring the players back in the game with top form.
