Ind vs SA: Gautam Gambhir reckons it’s time to move on from Pujara and Rahane

After the losing the Test Series against South Africa 2-1, Indian Cricket will red ball series against Sri Lanka.

IND vs SA 2022 Live – After winning the first test match, visitors went on to lose the test series by 2-1 against South Africa. So far, team India has not registered a single series win over Rainbow nation and it’s still intact there. Indian star-studded batting lineup exposed once again against the strong pace attack of South Africa.

Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara’s consistent failures have put their position under scrutiny. Except for half-centuries, in the second test match, Pujara and Rahane have failed to perform in South Africa.

Visitors who are played without the services of Rohit Sharma had received a major blow before the series started. Regular opener Shubman Gill along with Shikhar Dhawan sidelined for respective reasons.

After the consistent failure of Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir believes, it’s high time to move on from the two batsmen and look to service opportunities for other chaps.

“With enough support and backup to Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. It’s high time to move on from both and look for better choices in Test Cricket. And, with Vihari up there management has made the call,” said Gautam Gambhir on Star Sports Network.

“You’ve to back him now before he fades away. Same with Shreyas Iyer, who has already shown his potential with a century in Kanpur. Shubman Gill is also a bright prospect.” Gambhir further added.

India will commence the Test Series against Sri Lanka from 25th Feb for 2-match test series.
