After the Test match series, it’s time for the ODIs against South Africa. South African white-ball format captain Temba Bavuma believes that the team will be gaining a lot of confidence once they defeat the Indian cricket team in the ODIs as well. Indian team has recently lost the three-Test match series against South Africa after losing the series decider game in Cape Town. There were many consequences of that loss as the run-machine Virat Kohli stepped down from his role of captaincy in Test cricket. He only left his White-ball format captaincy a few months back and now his decision of stepping down from Test captaincy has given a massive shock not just to his fans but to the teammates and a lot of former cricketers as well.
Temba Bavuma who is the skipper of South Africa thinks it was a massive victory for their team in the Test series now they want to clinch this three-match ODI series as well. “An ODI series win against India would give us a helluva lot of confidence, and some momentum ahead of the games to follow,” Temba Bavuma was quoted as saying by ‘Daily Maverick’ reports Hindustan Times.
The Indian team will now be facing South Africa for the upcoming ODI series against them. The three-match ODI series will be starting from 19 January. As Rohit Sharma is not fully fit so his opening partner KL Rahul will lead the team in absence of him. India will be looking to bounce back in this ODI series after being defeated by the host in the Test-match series.
