IND vs SA 2022 – Comebacks are special and if it’s from trailing in the series then it’s become sweeter. South Africa has been in turmoil in the past few years after the retirement of great cricketers. Since then they have struggled and competed against low-string teams like Sri Lanka or West Indies.

But the start of 2022 has brought mixed results for the hosts where after losing the first test match. South Africa bounce back and level the series by 1-1 and the final test match was to go in Cape Town.

Having the advantage of home conditions, South Africa has succumbed in the first test match by all margins. With momentum on the visitor’s side, who’s played Virat Kohli had a slight disappointment.

KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bat first at Johannesburg where India never lost the test match. With a mighty batting lineup of visitors, expectations got the blow when India lost 3 wickets at the score of 49 runs.

Pujara and Rahane failed against the quality pace attack of South Africa. India has somehow managed to score 202 runs on the behalf of valiant efforts from Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin.

In reply, South Africa scored 229 runs with contributions from Keegan Peterson (62) and Temba Bavuma (51). With the small lead, South Africa needed the breakthroughs and Indian openers fell cheaply to provide momentum.

Pujara and Rahane 111 run-stand brought the team on track and look to go big lead. But the wicket of Rahane had changed the equation of the game. India was 155/2 at one stage but reduced to 245/9.

Marco Jansen (3), Lungi Nigidi (3), and Kagiso Rabada (3) shared 9 wickets to wrap up Indian innings at 266 runs in the second innings. South Africa needs 240 runs to chase and they have chase down with 7 wickets in their hands to level the series.
