This was the first time that Indian batsman Virat Kohli had faced the Pakistan pace bowler Shahnawaz Dahani. Dahani is a left-arm seamer who made his T20 debut in PSL 2021.

Dahani opened the bowling along with Naseem Shah for Pakistan against India. In his first over, Dahani beat Virat and said something to him, but Virat ignored him to avoid any break in concentration.
Dahani came back for his second over in the 5th over of the Indian inning. Virat focused and hit him for the four on the fourth ball of the fifth over, overpitched outside off. Kohli threw his bat at it and flayed it over cover point. Solid contact, and the ball flew away.
