As India and Pakistan face each other in their first T20 World Cup game at Newlands in Cape Town tomorrow, team India looks forward to holding their grip against Pakistan. India and Pakistan have faced each other 13 times in the Women’s T20 international. India successfully managed to clinch victory against Pakistan 10 times and has lost only three times against Pakistan. Hence, India continues to hold an advantage against Pakistan.
Ahead of the game, Indian Captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “Though Australia goes into the tournament as favorites, there is very little separating other teams, promising close matches and high-class performances. We have depth in batting and enough variety in bowling to do what is required against top teams.”
On the other hand, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof said that the series in Australia last month had been ideal preparation for the Upcoming T20 World Cup 2023. She said, “The series provided the players a great opportunity to prepare themselves and express their talent, the pitches in South Africa are likely the same as in Australia.”
As for the squad update, India’s two players from the junior team, i.e., Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh, are included in the Women’s Senior Team. For the Pakistani side, in bad news, Pakistan fast bowler Diana Baig suffered a finger injury in Australia, which has ruled her out of the entire World Cup.
