IND vs NZ: With Ishan Kishan back in playing XI skipper Rohit assigns ‘middle-order’ role to Kishan

Ishan Kishan will play in the upcoming ODIs against New Zealand, according to India captain Rohit Sharma, who also praised Mohammed Siraj and talked about the importance of contributions from the lower order.

India captain Sharma revealed during the pre-game press conference prior to the first One Day International against New Zealand that Kishan will rejoin the team in a middle-order position for the hosts.

“In terms of Ishan, yeah, he will be batting middle order. I’m glad he could get a run here after that fine knock in Bangladesh”.

Kishan scored a double century opening the batting in his last ODI against Bangladesh, but had to sit out the more recent ODI series against Sri Lanka.
