Following the three ODIs, New Zealand will play India in a three-match T20I series. Mitchell Santner will serve as the captain. The uncapped left-arm swing bowler Ben Lister, who has received his first New Zealand call-up, and all-rounder Henry Shipley, who recently made his ODI debut against Pakistan, are both included in the 15-man squad and both have a chance to make their T20I debuts.

“Mitch is a leader in our white ball teams and has captained the T20 side in India before. His experience in Indian conditions will be invaluable leading this group,” Larsen said
While they are recovering from injuries, Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Adam Milne, and Ben Sears were not available for selection. Tim Southee and Kane Williamson, along with head coach Gary Stead and bowling coach Shane Jurgensen, will return to New Zealand after the Pakistan series, so they won’t be travelling to India with the rest of the New Zealand team. During the limited-overs tour of India, Luke Ronchi will take over as lead coach.
