Indian skipper Virat Kohli recently cleared his intentions ahead of the third Test that will start from 24th February. The 4 match Test series between India and England level at 1-1. Looking forward to World Test Championship India needs to win a match and draw one. However, the Indian captain Virat Kohli expressed his opinion over the event that he wants to win both the matches rather than focusing on drawing one match from the 2.
The third Test between India and England will start from 24 Feb at Motera stadium Ahmedabad and this will be India’s second pink-ball Test at home. The series is also the decider of the finalist for the World Test Championship after New Zealand booked their place in the finals already.
“You can’t play for those kinds of reasons. We are not looking to win one and draw one, we are looking to win both Tests. For us, these are two games of cricket and we are solely focused on. What it does afterward is a conversation for later,” said Kohli during a virtual press conference on Tuesday.
“In the present moment we are preparing for tomorrow, we are ready for the grand five days wanting to win a Test match for India then move onto the next one,” he further added.
