Indian former batsman VVS Laxman has expressed surprise at the unavailability of Stuart Broad in the ongoing first Test between England and India at Chennai. Stuart Broad is the seamer of England with a good record against India. The England team is playing the first Test with seamers like James Anderson and Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes as their third seamer.
VVS Laxman recently expressed his views over England’s opinion of not choosing Stuart Broad in their playing XI.
“I am surprised Stuart Broad is not playing this match. It is the first Test match, and you want your best bowling attack to play against a strong Indian side. I feel they are going to rotate between Stuard Broad and Jimmy Anderson,” said Laxman.
Laxman praised Broad for his excellent bowl cutters and also tell the reporter that how could it be beneficial for the visitors.
“Stuart Broad bowls excellent cutters, and it is necessary to bol cutters on such pitches. He bowls a wicket-to-wicket line, and he has a lot of experience. The batsmen face a lot of difficulties when tall bowlers bowl cutters, and he would have had amazing synergy with Jimmy Anderson. Anderson, Broad, and Archer can maintain the pressure on the best batsmen,” added Laxman.
