India thumped the Three Lions in a super-Sunday run chase at Motera in Ahmedabad, levelled the series 1-1. India’s skipper Virat won the toss and invited the England team to pad up first at the Motera in Ahmedabad. After losing the first T20I, India have made two changes, debutant Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav replaced Shikhar Dhawan and Axar Patel respectively. For England, Tom Curran made his way in place of Mark Wood.
Indian bowlers capitalised on the situation. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the wicket of opener Jos Buttler for a duck. Dawid Malan too got dismissed early. Jason Roy (46 off 35) and Jonny Bairstow (20 off 15) stitched a handy partnership for England.
It was Bhuvi for India who not only took the wicket of Buttler but also took the spectacular catch of Roy at the boundary. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur shared two wickets apiece. They finished off with a boundary, put on 164/6 on the board.
While chasing the target of 165, debutant Ishan Kishan started his innings with a boundary. After that, he never looked back. The newbie had his own moments with the skipper at the other end. Kishan was dropped on 40 by Ben Stokes and went on to register a half-century off 28. He became the second Indian to hit a 50 on debut match.
Kohli, the leader, who was supreme at the other end, notched up 73 off 49. Smoothly. The Indian batters did not hesitate to smash the English bowlers at every pocket. They sailed to the shore with 13 balls to spare.
