India finished their first inning just after adding 46 more runs on Day 2 of the 3rd Test between Inda and England. The best bowling figure in the day-night Test for England by Joe Root (5/8) helped them to restrict India on a low total. India scored 99-3 on day 1 of the Test and started their second day, where they lost all the 7 wickets after adding just 47 runs. Ashwin scored the highest for India on Day 2, as he played the knock of 17 runs.
The turning track of Narendra Modi stadium is now a challenge for both the team. England scored just 112-runs in their first inning in which Axar Patel strikes for India and picked 6 wickets in his second Test match. However, India managed to take the lead of 33-runs in the match with the help of plenty of runs from Ashwin and Ishant Sharma.
Jack Leach also picked 4 wickets for England while Jofra Archer dismissed Shubhman Gill on Day 1. The ongoing third Test is important for both the teams as they both stand at 1-1 and the series will be the decider for the finalist of the World Test Championship. For India, Rohit Sharma was the highest scorer as he played an astonishing inning of 66-runs in 96 balls with 11 boundaries. Indian skipper Virat Kohli also added some valuable runs to the team total as he scored 27 runs in 58 balls.
Ishant Sharma who is playing his 100th Test also hit his first international six in the ongoing Test match. After being all-out on just 112 runs, England’s spinners Joe Root and Jack Leach strikes for their team and provide some strength to the team with the performance.
