Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg believes Indian opener Rohit Sharma will get his form in the Test against England in Chennai. Rohit Sharma recently did not perform as per expectations in the first Test as well as the series against Australia. Hogg believes Rohit Sharma is the kind of player who cannot resist himself from scoring runs for so long.
The debate of replacing Rohit Sharma with Mayank Agarwal is recently going because of the performance of Sharma in the longest format. He has only been able to score a fifty in the last 7 innings he played. Hogg recalls the series between Indian and South Africa to prove his point.
“No, I don’t see him(Rohit Sharma) being dropped. Remember against South Africa off later he just scored three hundred and one of those a double a hundred. He is a phenomenal batsman. Don’t write him off yet, I am expecting a big score in the second Test match from him,’ Brad Hogg said.
“The only issue I have with Rohit Sharma is that England has a very good pace attack against his technique. He does play away from his body. Anderson swings the ball away, but Jofra Archer also gets the movement but with extra bounce and pace. Sharma has got to learn to leave the ball outside off-stumps,” Brad Hogg asserted
