Ahead of the third Test between India and England, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir expressed his views over the new venue Motera. The newly built Motera is now the world’s largest cricket stadium, which will inaugurate on Tuesday by Indian president Ramnath Kovind.
The ongoing Test series between Inda and England stands on 1-1. The visitors won the first match 227 runs and the second match was won by the 317 runs by the hosts. The pitch of the second match had so much help for the spinners that not a single England batsmen scored big run against Indian spinners. After this, the people start criticizing BCCI for creating such pitch.
However, Gautam Gambhir speaks up ahead of third Test about the pitch conditions and how it will not benefit any of the side.
“It’s a new stadium, a new wicket andf the Tesat match will be played with the pink ball. So, nobody knows how will the ball move, seam or bounce. Plus, it’s a new venue for both teams, hence both teams will start on equal terms. If we talk about Chennai, then Team India knew the pitch conditions. But in Motera, neither India nor England can judge the condition of the pitch,” Gambhir said.
He also added that it will be interesting to see the kind of wicket the teams get because both teams are looking good as their bowling attack.
“Joe Root would’ve been happy, If someone would’ve told him that they will enter the pink ball Test with a 1-1 score. Team India has the arsenl of fast bowling,. Which dcould be troublesome for England, and vice versa England also has a fast bowling attack. It will be interesting to see the kind of wicket the teams get,” he added.
