IND vs ENG: In Chennai, England cricket team shows up for Tests against India

On Wednesday, players of England cricket team including captain Joe Root landed in Chennai for the four-match series against India with the first two tests to be played in Chennai. According to airport sources, some of the Indian players and support staff also arrived in the city.

A Tamil Nadu Cricket Association official said that around 10.30 Root and Co flew in from Sri Lanka and headed to the hotel where players of both teams will be set up as a component of bio-bubble.

On Monday, the England team had completed a 2-0 series and wrapped off the tests against Sri Lanka .

On Sunday, all-rounder Jofra Archer and Ben Strokes landed in the city and are in quarantine.

While on Tuesday night few Indian players including star batsman Rohit Sharma and Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane landed in the city, and some others like Cheteshwar Pujara, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishab pant arrived on Wednesday.

The TNCA official said that, the members of both teams will be staying at hotel leela palace and will undergo testing for Covid-19.

The official also added, “They will remain in quarantine for six days and they will start practicing from February 2.”

The first test id going to start from February 5 and second from February 13 at the MA Chidambaram stadium.
