Ind vs Eng: England lose four wickets in the first session

Despite losing the toss to England’s skipper Joe Root, Virat Kohli’s India have dominated the first session at Motera. After Ishant Sharma removes opener Dom Sibley early for a duck, Axar Patel too stroke at a rapid pace. Patel in his first over got Jonny Bairstow for a duck.

But the biggest jolt for England came when Joe Root perished to Ravichandran Ashwin’s spin. Opener Zak Crawley till now stood on the pitch for the longest time. He made 53 off 84 but could not resist homeboy Patel’s trick.

At the end of session one, England are at 81/4 with Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope at the crease.
