England lost the first two wickets on the score of 0 when Axar Patel sent Zak Crawley and Bairstow in the first and third bowler of the first over of the match.
Axar Patel and Ashwin picked 18 wickets in the match, where Patel alone dismissed 11 batsmen with two five-wicket hauls. India gets the target of just 49 runs to win the match in the second inning. The openers Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill are still at the crease after the end of session 2 of day 2. The total runs needed to get the lead of 2-1 in the series is 38 runs as Rohit Sharma is playing at 6 runs and Gill is at 1.
The newly built stadium Motera might witness India’s second Test win in just 2 days. Earlier, India won a Test match in just 2 days against Afghanistan. Axar Patel’s brilliance didn’t give any loose end to the visitors and just scored 193 runs in both innings.
India needs to win this match and to draw the other one to get qualified for the World Test Championship’s final. The 4 match Test series currently stands at 1-1 where visitors won the first match by 227 runs and India won the second one by 317 runs.
