India won the third Test at the newly built Motera stadium where Axar Patel picked 11 wickets and becomes Man of the Match of the third Test. In the post-match interview, Hardik Pandya was asking about his experience over the moment of getting two fifers in the match and turning it to the host’s side.
Inia won the third Test by 10 wickets and get the lead in the series by 2-1 because of the terrific bowling of Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel. Hardik Pandya who was not part of the playing XI asked Axar that Test cricket might be easy for him.
“Everyone asked me the same questions so far but when you play the game and miss even the full toss then you realize that it’s not that easy. So, it’s all about confidence” Axar replied.
Hardik Pandya praised Axar Patel for his brilliant bowling performance and making a terrific comeback in international cricket. Pandya asked whom you want to mention in your success comeback.
“When I wasn’t a part of the team for the past 3 years, I kept working on my game (bowling and batting). Because when you stay away from international cricket for so long, people ask many questions. Like, you did great in the Indian Premier League and India A team, then why you are not the part of Indian Cricket Team. So. whenever someone asks me these questions, I told to myself that whenever I’ll play I will surely give my 100%. I have got a lot of support from my close friend and families in the last 3 years and that’s why I wanna mention them in my success,” Axar said.
Axar Patel also shared his experience of playing in his home conditions and contributing more to the team.
“I felt so good because this is my second match and the first match in Motera. Getting two five-wicket hauls in front of the home crowd and listening to the chants of Axxxarrr.. Axxxarrrrr.. make me feels so good. When the local crowd cheers for you its become greater even my family members were part of the crowd. I played in front of them all and they pray for me and these kinds of performances in front of them are like dreams come true.” he further added.
In between the interview Indian skipper, Virat Kohli joined the duo and praised Axar Patel in Gujarati with sharing some laughter. Kohli said “Aee Bapu Thari Bowling Kamaal Chhe” which is now getting viral on social media platforms.
