IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: England needs to chase down 337 to stay alive in the Series

As the 1st innings wraped up, India scored a total of 336 with loss of 6 wickets against England. The 2nd ODI in the three-match series is played at the MCA Stadium in Pune and India successfully manages to score 300+ runs in 2 consecutive matches.

Winning the toss, England’s Captain Jos Buttler decided to ball first, though the match started with a bit of disappointment as India lost both the openers- Rohit Sharma at 25 and Shikhar Dhawan at 4. But the partnership of KL Rahul who alone scored 108 and Virat Kohli(66) lifted the spirit of the team as they crossed a 100+ partnership margin and gradually led Indian score back on track.

KL Rahul became the first player to score a century in this ODI series from either side. Rishabh Pant scored a quick 77, this cameo role showed Pant’s batting skills showering 7 sixes in this ODI innings against England and framed his name as one the first person to hit the most sixes in an ODI against England in a single innings.

The last 10 overs were a magical as India scored 126 runs in it, Hardik Pandya(35) took over as Pant depart on a short pitch delivery. England’s pacer’s Reece Topley and Tom Curran managed to get two wickets each while Sam Curran and Adil Rashid managed one wickets each in their favor.

This England side is been led under the captainship of Jos Buttler as Eon Morgan and batsman Sam Billings are unable to play due to their injuries. If England have to chase this total of 337, the trio, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali need to show their magic against the Indian bowlers.
