After an embarrassing loss in the ODI series, team India will be seeking for a comeback in the two-match Test series against the hosts – Bangladesh. The first Test is scheduled to start from 9:00 AM at the iconic at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
It has been a pleasant start for the birthday boy’s morning as India included Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI against Bangladesh. Team India are aiming to put their hopes on the spinning unit as the blues will go with 3 spinners, which include Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.
The last time Kuldeep Yadav played a Test match was in the year 2021 and it has been 22 months since Kuldeep stepped out in whites for team India.
“Looks a good wicket, put runs on the board and hope that the wicket breaks, use the foot-marks later on and try and see if we can take 20 wickets. There have been a few injuries, obviously we miss our captain Rohit and a few others but that gives opportunities to other guys. Everyone’s played a little bit of cricket and they’ll be excited to take on this challenge and contribute to the team. Kuldeep plays, there are 3 spinners – Axar, Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav – and two medium pacers – Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav,” said skipper KL Rahul.
KL Rahul, the stand-in captain of India, wants his team to play aggressive cricket in Bangladesh in order to maintain their chances of making the ICC World Test Championship final the following year. In order to keep pace with the World Test Championship pacesetters during the Chattogram Test, Rahul has urged his charges to play positive cricket.
