IND vs BAN: KL Rahul gives update on Rohit Sharma’s availability for the 2nd Test

Rohit had injured his thumb and was ruled out of the 1st Test match, with KL Rahul leading the side.

On Sunday, December 18th, the Indian cricket team defeated Bangladesh in the first Test match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. The Test match concluded on the fifth and final day. On the final day, the Indian bowlers finished the match in just 50 minutes.

At the start of the day, India needed four wickets to win, while Bangladesh needed 241 runs. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan tried hard to counter-attack Indian bowlers but was eventually dismissed by spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Shakib scored 84 runs and was Bangladesh’s second highest scorer in the second innings.

Rohit Sharma did not play in the Test series opener against Bangladesh in Chattogram, which India won by an emphatic 188-run margin to take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Rohit had injured his thumb and was ruled out of the match, with KL Rahul taking his place.

Rahul gave an update on Rohit’s availability for the second Test in Mirpur following the big win. The Mirpur Test match will begin from December 22 onwards and will be the final game of the tour.

“About Rohit, we may be able to know (his status) in the next day or two, even I am not aware of it,” Rahul said at the post-match press conference.
