According to well-placed sources in Melbourne and here in India, Khawaja’s visa application was forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi. Khawaja was born in Pakistan and moved to Australia when he was three years old.
The MEA took some time to issue clearances to Khawaja, and the Indian High Commission in Canberra received a message from New Delhi just a few hours ago. It was immediately forwarded to the Indian Consulate in Melbourne, which promptly issued his Visa.
