IND vs AUS: Pat Cummins, David Warner likely to be ruled out of ODI series

According to reports, David Warner and Pat Cummins may not travel to India for the ODI series as well. They have already been ruled out from the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Given that the ODI World Cup is later in the year and Warner, who fractured his elbow, is still recovering from his injury, Cricket Australia may decide not to risk playing him.

Pat Cummins hasn’t decided yet, but it’s very likely that he will miss the ODI series in order to be with his mother, who is receiving palliative care. Now, Steve Smith will serve as the captain of the Australian team for the three-match ODI series in the event that the all-rounder is ruled out.

Warner is very likely to lose his spot in the team, so it is thought that the ODI series could have revitalized his red-ball career. Australia might not select him for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final and the Ashes due to his poor performance in England, where players like Travis Head can get an extended run at the top of the order.
