India have once again been backfired after deciding to promote Jadeja up the order as the left-arm all-rounder fails to hold grip in the third innings of the Indore Test. First time since Jan 2019 Jadeja has been dismissed for single figure score in both innings of a Test.
In the first innings Jadeja was sent up than his usual order and he was able to score only 4 runs off 9 deliveries.
In the third innings, Jadeja once again failed to perform, and Team India’s strategy of sending Jadeja before Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat appears to have been a miscalculation on the Australian spinners. Jadeja thought he could block it with a gentle forward stride, but the ball simply slides on and skids off the deck, rapping him on the pad and jarring the splce of the bat. The extra bounce caught Jadeja off guard, but it was a deflection off the pad. It appeared to be very close, and maybe umpire Joel Wilson thought there was an inside edge, but it wasn’t to be. Australia, on the other hand, wasted no time in reviewing this.
