IND vs AUS Live: Mitchell Starc’s five-fer wraps India’s innings at 117 runs

Australia needs 118 runs in the second innings of this ODI match.

Team Australia have successfully dominated the first innings as the dressing room appreciates Starc and Abbott’s special performance.

After opting to toss first, Australian captain opted to bowl first which seems to have been a good choice.

Starc opened the bag of wickets after Shubman Gill was departed in a similar mode of the 1st ODI.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma returned for the remaining games after opting out of the 1st ODI. While Rohit and Kohli looked at a fine performance, Starc cleaned up back to back wickets after captain Sharma along with Suryakumar Yadav were departed.

The consecutive wickets from one end put the pressure on Virat Kohli but Nathan Ellis turned out in surprise to bowl out the veteran.

Abbott was the key factor for the stadium to go from cheering to silence as Hardik Pandya’s wicket brought India’s innings to 49 for 5.

Starc once again returned for another spell and successfully clinched his 4th wicket after the Mumbai (1st ODI) performer KL Rahul was departed cheaply.

Jadeja and Axar Patel hoped to take the innings further as a lost hope for the hosts, but Ellis once again broke the partnership to bring India to 91-7.

Starc and Abbott completed the rest of formalities with Axar Patel standing “not-out”.

Australia needs 118 runs to win as the visitors have a chance to make the 3rd ODI a series decider.
