The India Cricket Team arrived in Indore today ahead of the third Test, which begins on March 1. With a 2-0 lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Team India paused after completing the Delhi Test in just three days. However, after a brief 6-day break, Rohit Sharma and company have returned to complete the series’ formalities. On Sunday, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat, and Ravindra Jadeja were among those who began practise at the Holkar Stadium. The rest will start today.
After leading Australia 2-0 in the ongoing Test series, Rohit Sharma’s men will take the field at the Holkar Cricket Stadium for the third Test. India has already retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy and is now aiming for a spot in the World Test Championship final.
India’s track record at the Holkar Cricket Stadium may add to the pressure on the visitors. The third test match was originally scheduled for Dharamshala, but it was moved to Indore. Meanwhile, India is undefeated in two Test matches in Indore, having thrashed their opponents.

In the two test matches held at this venue, India has faced both New Zealand and Bangladesh. In the third test against New Zealand in October 2016, India won by 321 runs. Meanwhile, in November 2019, the Men in Blue defeated the Bangladesh team by an inning and 130 runs.
Indore hosted the first test of a two-match series against Bangladesh. India chose to bowl first, while Bangladesh chose to bat first. Except for the coin toss, nothing went in the visitors’ favour. Fast bowlers and Ashwin starred as they were bowled out for 150. When India batted, opener Mayank Agarwal was on fire, scoring 243 runs before India declared on 493/6.
In the second phase, Bangladesh was again battered hard and bowled out for 213 runs, giving India an inning and a 130-run victory. Mohammed Shami was the standout bowler in the second innings, taking four wickets in 16 overs.
