Prior to the start of Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, there was a lot of discussion about the pitch. The ICC reportedly gave the pitches in Nagpur and Delhi a rating after Australia suffered back-to-back series losses to India in the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
According to reports in the Australian media, The Age and Sydney Morning Herald, both pitches received a “average” rating from the ICC and match referee.
The pitch at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur has been rated as “average” by both the sport’s governing body and its match referee, Andy Pycroft of Zimbabwe. Pycroft also gave the pitch for the second Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, “average” rating.
The third Test against India will begin on March 1 in Indore, and the final Test will begin on March 9 in Ahmedabad.
