IND vs AUS: Australia releases spinner Ashton Agar from the Border-Gavaskar Test squad

The Australian left-arm spinning all-rounder Ashton Agar is scheduled to play domestic cricket for Western Australia upon his return from his current tour of India. Prior to the start of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on March 1, Australia hasn’t named a replacement for Agar.

Agar, who was a member of the team for the first two Tests, was passed over for a spot in the starting XI; instead, Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy, and Matthew Kuhnemann were chosen by the visitors.

Agar will now play in Western Australia’s upcoming Sheffield Shield match on March 2 and their 50-over Marsh Cup championship match on March 8. He is anticipated to travel back to India for the ODI series in March.
