Live Update: Australia have won the toss and have opted to bat
The third and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia is scheduled for Wednesday at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. (March 22). The hosts dominated the first game of the series, but the visitors were ruthless in the next game to exact revenge. Mitchell Starc took five wickets as Rohit Sharma’s Men in Blue were bowled out for 117 runs. Later, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh humiliated India’s bowling attack as Australia chased their target in 11 overs with 10 wickets in hand.
“We are gonna have a bat. Looks like quite a dry surface, it is pretty hot out here. Will look to put a good total on this surface. We have had good fun and it will be exciting in the decider. David Warner is back and Cameron Green is feeling unwell, so there are changes,” said skipper Smith
Warner is one of Australia’s all-time great 50-over openers, with 19 centuries and 27 fifties at an average of 45. In his most recent One-Day International (ODI), he scored 106 against world champions England in Melbourne. Warner is a hugely popular figure in India, and he has an impressive record in the country that will host the ODI World Cup in 2023.
On the other hand, Cameron Green was witnessed having a great practice session just a day ahead of the 3rd ODI but as per skipper’s statement he will not be available for the selections as he has complained for illness.
