IND v SL: These batters can replace Sanju Samson in 2nd T20I

Sanju Samson is injured and has been ruled out from the T20I series.

Indian cricket team will play against Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I on Thursday, 5th January at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The Indian cricket team has won the first game and it was very close. However, there was some bad news for India after the game as their batter Sanju Samson got injured and ruled out of this series.

Due to knee injury, Sanju Samson will no more be seen in this three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Jitesh Sharma has replaced him in the Indian squad. But who will replace the batter in the starting XI?

The batters that can replace Sanju Samson in the playing XI of India (2nd T20I):

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The Chennai Super Kings’ opener could be one of the options for India in the team in place of injured Sanju Samson. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been phenomenal in the first class cricket and especially in the recent ranji trophy he scored consecutive centuries as well including one in the finals.

Rahul Tripathi: The Indian batter Rahul Tripathi can also be in the team in place of Sanju as he is been waiting for his chances for so long now. As Indian openers are fixed i.e. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, so Rahul Tripathi seems to be most likely option for India to replace Sanju Samson in the playing XI in the second T20I.

Washington Sundar: The all-rounder can also be one of the options for India but this seems unlikely as he normally bats at No. 6 and No.7 and India needs a batter who can comfortably bat at No. 4 or No. 3.
