IND v SA, 3rd T20I: India register their biggest T20I victory against South Africa

India beats South Africa in the third T20 to stay alive in the series. Rishabh Pant-led side is alive in the five-match series that seemed dominated by the Proteas.

India crushes South Africa by 48 runs in Visakhapatnam to stay alive in the five-match series after having lost the first two T20s. The Indian team management was under an extreme burden to make a few changes in the third T20I against South Africa as the hosts were behind  0-2 in the five-match series. However, they didn’t fall under pressure and instead showed massive trust in the players’ talent to hit back and keep the series alive. The players responded well and sliced out a convenient 48-run win at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Stadium, here on Tuesday night. The return to form of opener Ruturaj Gaikwad and the bowlers getting back their wicket-taking ability heralds well for the hosts as they head to Rajkot for the fourth game.

The win is India’s biggest (by runs) against the Proteas in T20 Internationals. India’s last major T20I victory against South Africa was on September 20, 2007. In that match, India had won by 37 runs. Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel spelled their magic and proved why they are leading the contentions as limited-overs specialists. The duo bagged 3 & 4 wickets, respectively. India will look to equal the score in the upcoming consecutive series of deciders for India.
