IND v ENG: Virat Kohli tested COVID-19 positive after returning from Maldives trip

Virat Kohli, who is present in England to play the final test match in the England vs India bilateral test series, was infected with COVID-19 upon his return from a vacation in Maldives.


The rescheduled test match from July 1 – 5 is hit yet again by the COVID – 19 cases. Lately, Ravichandran Ashwin was tested positive and missed the practice match with Leicester will be joining the Indian team camp late. However, joining Ashwin, Virat Kohli too was infected with COVID-19 after returning to India from the Maldives. Virat Kohli tested positive after the team arrived in London last week.

According to the report by TOI, “Yes, Virat Kohli was also affected by COVID-19 after coming back from his Maldives vacation.” The source to the said newspaper also revealed that “This means that India’s tour game against Leicestershire on June 24 will not be as concentrated as coach Rahul Dravid had hoped, because medical advice is to avoid overloading the players after they have suffered Covid-19.” “There could be more Covid cases on the team,”

The Indian Cricket team will play the series led by a 2-1 margin against England. It is considered to be the best chance for India to win the series after 2-1. If India loses the match, it will level the series.
