IND v ENG: Rishabh Pant becomes youngest Indian player to complete 100 sixes in International cricket

With a magnificent innings that included 6 boundaries and 1 six, Rishabh Pant finished off his half-century in spectacular fashion.

Rishabh Pant has the most sixes for India and is the youngest Indian player to reach 100 sixes in international cricket. On Friday (July 1), he reached this milestone during the opening day of the fifth test match of the series against England at Edgbaston.

In order to accomplish this milestone at the age of 24, Pant broke Sachin Tendulkar‘s (25 years) record for the most sixes at the young age.

On a gloomy opening day at Edgbaston, India struggled to keep pace with England’s pace bowlers. When the visitors’ top order was wrecked when their score was in the low two digits, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were left to give them a boost. Pant, as always, put up a show as much as he could despite the challenging situation.

In the years, Pant has taken daring shots against the England star, James Anderson. In an earlier Test match between the two sides in Ahmedabad, he hit Anderson for a six with a reverse sweep. However, as his teammates learned on Friday, playing Anderson in England presents a unique set of difficulties.

His fifty helped India out of a trouble when they were at 98/5 at one moment. India fought back on Day 1 owing to Pant’s 76-run unbroken stand with Ravindra Jadeja.
