IND v ENG 3rd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer’s partnership breaks record for India

India, needing 216 to win, reached 198 for 9 in their 20 overs. India lost the match, but with a 2-1 lead, they won the series.

At Trent Bridge in Nottingham, England defeated India by 17 runs in the third and final Twenty20 International, despite Suryakumar Yadav‘s unbeaten score of 117. India, who were attempting to chase down a total of 216, had been in trouble at 31 for three before Yadav and Shreyas Iyer partnered for 119 runs for the fourth wicket to keep the squad in the match.

The highest fourth-wicket partnership for India in T20Is was recorded by Yadav and Iyer’s 119 stand, which smashed the previous record of KL Rahul and MS Dhoni’s 107 run partnership against West Indies in 2016.

Later in the match, Iyer (28 runs from 23 balls) and Dinesh Karthik (6 runs from 7 balls) were knocked quickly after each other, but Yadav persisted in his assault to move India closer to the goal. However, his removal in the penultimate over gave England the advantage once more. After that, Chris Jordan took two wickets in the final over as England managed to win consolingly.
