IND v AUS: Shreyas Iyer could replace this batter in the 2nd Test

Shreyas Iyer is back with the team for the remaining Test matches against Australia.

The Indian team management is considering the inclusion of Shreyas Iyer as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav. Iyer is a well-known face in Indian cricket and has been a consistent performer for the team in limited-overs cricket.

In addition to his batting skills, Iyer is also an exceptional fielder and has taken some outstanding catches in the past. He has the ability to change the course of the game with his fielding, which makes him an asset for the team.

Iyer has also had a successful domestic career, having scored over 5,000 runs in List A cricket at an average of 42.14. He has been the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and led the team to the final in 2020.

Replacing Suryakumar Yadav, who made a good Test debut in the first match of the series, will not be an easy task. However, Iyer’s consistent performance in the limited-overs format and his experience in domestic cricket make him a strong contender for the middle-order spot in the Test team. The second Test between India and Australia will be played between 17th February and 21st February in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
