“If you want controversy please tell me before, so I can answer accordingly,” says skipper Virat Kohli when asked about Rohit Sharma’s selection

According to a video posted by ICC on their official Twitter handle, the reporter asked Kohli if he could have picked Ishan Kishan who played a flamboyant knock in the first warm-up game over the vice-captain of the team.

In recent times, there have been many rumors around the cricketing circuit about how things are not well between the Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma. There, however, has been no proof to it but that doesn’t stop journalists and reporters to keep digging for a controversy. Sniffing an opportunity in the post-match conference on Sunday evening, after India suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of their arch-rivals Pakistan, a journalist questioned Rohit’s selection.

According to a video posted by ICC on their official Twitter handle, the reporter asked Kohli if he could have picked Ishan Kishan who played a flamboyant knock in the first warm-up game over the vice-captain of the team. Kohli seemed to have prepared for such a question and he counter-questioned the journalist if he would like Rohit to be dropped from the T20 side completely. “What is your opinion?” Kohli was heard asking the journalist in the video, “will you drop Rohit Sharma from T20 Internationals. You know what he did in the last game that we played?” He then gave a wry smile and facepalmed at the audacity of the journalist to ask such a question. Before taking another question, he added, “if you want controversy please tell me before, so I can answer accordingly.” This response of Virat Kohli is winning his appreciation on the internet. Also, it officially clears up all the rumors of there being a rift between two world-class and most experienced batsmen in the Indian cricket team.
