ICC Women’s Asia Cup 2022: India continue their dominance in the points table after defeating UAE by 104 runs

India on Tuesday defeated UAE with a huge margin of 104 runs to keep their dominance in the tournament securing the top position in the points table.

India’s juggernaut continues to dominate every team in the ICC Women’s Aisa Cup 2022. India won the toss to bat first at the Sylhet Outer Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh.

India didn’t have a very promising start and lost both the openers Sabbhineni Meghana (10) and Richa Gosh for a duck. However, Deepti Sharma (64) handled the innings alongside Jemimah Rodrigues who played an undisputed inning of 75 of 45 balls.

Rodrigues scored with an impressive strike rate of 166.67 which included eleven fours. Both batters helped India mount to 178/5 in the first 20 overs of play.

However, what India showed with the bat was just a trailer because the Indian bowlers not only crippled the UAE batting lineup but didn’t even allow it to reach a three-digit total. UAE was restricted to 74/4 lacking 104 runs to the victory.

This was UAE’s third defeat in the tournament but also helped India climb to the top of the table and take a dominant lead from Pakistan.

The two ace teams, India and Pakistan will face each other on 7th October in Bangladesh.
