Indian Women’s team has a lot promising start to the Asia Cup 2022. India also defeated Malaysia on Monday with the DLS coming into effect after the rain stopped the match in the second innings.
India batted first at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Academy Ground, Bangladesh scoring a high total of 181/4. Openers Shefali Bagga (46) and Shabbhineni Meghana (69) gave India a head start in the match.
However, the middle order crumbled but Richa Gosh handled the innings scoring 33 of just 19 balls with a strike rate of 173.68. India lost their first wicket at 116 after a heavy partnership between the openers.
India not only dominated the newly Malaysian side with the bat but also managed to collapse their top order before the power play. Malaysia was reduced to 6/2 in the first four overs.
Unfortunately, the rain interrupted the game which resulted in the DLS coming into the effect. This gave the already dominating side a Swift win over Malaysia in the ICC Women’s Asia Cup 2022.
