India captain Rohit Sharma has dropped to ninth place in the ICC Test Batting Rankings, which were updated on March 1. The India captain dropped two spots after posting two 30-plus scores in the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test. Rohit started the series with a century in the Nagpur Test, but he has struggled since.

Former captain Virat Kohli has also dropped to No. 16 in the latest batting rankings. In Test cricket, Kohli has struggled with consistency. Kohli, who hasn’t scored a Test century since November 2019, only managed 265 runs in six Tests in 2022. He started the year poorly, scoring 98 runs in 5 innings in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kohli looked good in difficult batting conditions in Delhi and Indore, but he couldn’t turn his start into a big knock.
