Given that the World Test Championship Finals will take place in a few months, International Cricket Council (ICC) made a significant error when ranking the top teams for the World Test Championship rankings.
A mistake on the ICC website temporarily elevated India to the top spot in Test matches, negating Australia’s gains. Rohit Sharma and company received 115 rating points from the ICC, replacing Australia’s 126 points, making them the new World No. 1. Australia had 111 rather than 126. Australia is once again ranked first in the world thanks to ICC’s website correction. Now India will only become new World No 1 if they beat Australia at home in the Test series.
