ICC announces latest Test Rankings: Kohli slips down to number 3

ICC announced the latest Test rankings of bowlers, batsmen, and all-rounders. Kane Williamson top the batsmen ranking by earning 919 rating points best-ever by any New Zealand player.  He reached his best rating points after his sparkling 238 runs knock against Pakistan. Australian batsman Steve Smith is in the second position after coming in form and registering 131 and 81. Kohli slipped down to number three after missing two matches against Australia. Cheteshwar Pujara also gets the benefit of his knocks of 55 and 77 runs and resulted in coming up to 8th position from 10th. Rishabh Pant also jumped up 19 places and at 26th position after his brilliant knock of 97 against Australia. Williamson named player of the series after leading his side to victory by 2-0 against Pakistan.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah both slipped down from their places and at 8th and 9th places respectively in the bowlers ranking. Australian pacer Pat Cummins still at the top spot with rating points of 908, Mitchell Starc also slithered down and at 8th position. Ravindra Jadeja got the benefit of his latest performance and climbed up to 13th position.

Talking about the list of the all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandra Ashwin are the two Indians who are still in the top 10. Ben Stokes retained his position of world’s number 1 test all-rounder. Ravindra Jadeja ascends to number 2. Kyle Jamieson, the New Zealand all-rounder made a jump of 5 places and now at number 5. In his 6-Test career, the right-arm pacer has 2 Man of the Match awards – one against India and  Pakistan each – and a Man of the Series award versus West Indies; he was also the Player of the Match on his ODI debut against India. Mitchell Starc is at number 6 and Pat Cummins is also made it to the top 10 and at number 10.
