England’s skipper Jos Buttler felt the team’s change mindset has helped a lot in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
“I think the perception of our team has changed a lot over the years. We’ve certainly not played it safe, and we’ve had results doing that”, said Buttler.
England defeated Pakistan in the finals to lift the T20 World Cup. Jos Buttler and his men won the finals with 5 wickets and one over left to bowl.
It was the English captain who delighted with the entire teamwork and the efforts contributed by each one of them. He was also very happy about how the change in the gameplay mentality has helped the team.
Buttler praised bowlers for being the match winning component in the finals, especially Sam Curran who bowled his spell giving away just 12 runs & stricking with three big wickets.
“Sam Curran has stepped up and been an absolute revelation. He’s a brilliant cricketer. He loves those crunch moments. He’s deserved Player of the Tournament for this, and we’re so proud to have him in our team”, Buttler added.
“I think the depth of bowling has been amazing. I think our bowling has improved no end, and I think that’s why we’re sat here as champions to be honest”, Buttler continued.
England’s major dominance and had a strong hold in the white ball cricket came under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. However, after his retirement and Buttler stepping up as the new leader, it just took the new English captain to retain the team with the ICC T20 World Cup title.
