“I can tell you for sure”, VVS Laxman hints on where MS Dhoni would play hi farewell match

Indian cricketer VVS Laxman opens up about MS Dhoni’s farwell match. Says that he is very passionate about playing for Chennai Super Kings.

VVS Laxman believes that MS Dhoni is most likely to play his farwell match at the Chepauk, just as Sachin Tendulkar did while playing his farewell game at the Wankhede stadium to end his illustrious cricketing career.

One of the most iconic and impactful cricketers in the history of the game decided to call it quits on 15th August, MS Dhoni made an announcement through a video message via Instagram saying “Thanks. Thanks a lot for your love and support throughout 19:29 hrs consider me as retired”. His retirement triggered a wave of messages of appreciation on the social media for his immense contribution towards the game.

Dhoni played his last game for India back in 2019 but he did not opt out of the international cricket immediately, with the current announcement he may be leaving international cricket but fans will be able to enjoy his cricket in the upcoming IPL in UAE.

VVS Laxman has predicted that MS Dhoni will play his farewell match at Chepauk prior to his retirement from Cricket just as Sachin Tendulkar ended hi career with a last game at Wankhede stadium, talking about it on the star sports show VVS said.

“Number one is we all have to recognize that he is very passionate about CSK. One of the reasons CSK has been the most successful franchise has been MS Dhoni’s leadership. So, he will go out and he will do everything possible for CSK to win the trophy”, quoted Laxman.

“I think MS Dhoni’s farewell game will be whenever he plays his last match for CSK. And I can tell you for sure, just like the way Sachin had that farewell match at the Wankhede, I think the farewell match will be at the Chepauk. And all the fans, not only at the ground but around the world, not only the Indian fans but all the cricketing fans will be watching that last game of MS whenever that will happen”, he added.

Dhoni has played a major role in shaping the powerhouse of the International Indian Cricket team has become today with the Triumph of the T20 World Cup and the ODI World Cup in 2011 along with the trophies there are some staggering number of stats to his name while playing for India, 538 matches, 17,266 runs, 16 centuries, 108 fifties, 359 sixes and 829 dismissals.
