Rahul Dravid spoke about Rishabh Pant’s dismissal in the second innings of the Johannesburg Test against South Africa. As the second Test is over, India was defeated by a huge margin by the South African to level the series by 1-1. There were some positives and negatives as well to take from this game for the Indian cricket team. After the match, Rahul Dravid faces some questions where he addressed so many things, where the team can improve, and what went wrong in this second Test match against South Africa.
Apart from all these questions, he was also asked about Rishabh Pant’s dismissal in the second innings at Johannesburg. He answered by saying that Rishabh has his own technique and style of playing just like other players. But the head coach of the Indian cricket team still feels that the shot he selected on that day was a poor selection from him.
“We know Rishabh plays positively and he plays in a particular manner and that has got him a little bit of success. No one’s ever going to tell Rishabh not to be a positive player, not to be an aggressive player, but sometimes it’s just a question of picking and choosing the time to do that. I think when you just come in, maybe giving yourself a bit more time might be a little bit more advisable,” Rahul Dravid said in the post-match press conference on Thursday as reported by Hindustan Times.
Rahul Dravid also told that he will have a talk with the wicket-keeper batsman (Rishabh pant) and will speak about this and why did he really approach this shot against South Africa in the second Test at Johannesburg which got him out on a duck.
