Haris Rauf’s central contract terminated after refusal to join Pakistan’s test squad

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf has had his central contract terminated by the PCB following his refusal to join Pakistan’s Test squad for the Australia tour. The decision comes after a thorough probe and a personal hearing, during which Rauf’s response was deemed unsatisfactory.

Rauf’s central contract termination is effective from December 1, 2023, and he will not be granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in any foreign league until June 30, 2024. The termination marks a significant development in Pakistan cricket, coming on the heels of the team’s whitewash in the Australia tour.

In another notable announcement, Mohammad Hafeez’s tenure as Director of Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team has ended, concluding his role during Pakistan’s tours of Australia and New Zealand.

Despite Rauf’s absence from the Test series, where Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash, he returned for the New Zealand T20I series, contributing with seven wickets. Rauf has represented Pakistan in one Test, 37 ODIs, and 66 T20Is, claiming a total of 160 international wickets.
