Haris Rauf ruled out of PSL 2024

Lahore Qalandars face a significant setback as seasoned pacer Haris Rauf has been sidelined for the remainder of PSL 2024 due to a shoulder dislocation. The 30-year-old sustained the injury while executing a diving catch to dismiss Hasan Ali during Qalandars’ recent clash against arch-rivals Karachi Kings.

Rauf’s immediate reaction to throw the ball away after completing the catch raised doubts about its cleanliness. However, replays confirmed his control over the catch before the impact of his shoulder forced him to release the ball. Qalandars’ medical staff promptly escorted Rauf off the field, with the pacer visibly wearing a sling, indicating a serious injury.

Initial assessments suggest that Rauf will face a recovery period of four to six weeks, putting his participation in jeopardy for the upcoming matches. Despite a shaky start to the season, Rauf showcased promising form in recent outings, notably in the game against Karachi Kings where he emerged as Qalandars’ standout bowler.

Expressing concern over Rauf’s absence, Sameen Rana, Qalandars COO, emphasized the bowler’s significance to the team’s bowling attack. Rana underscored the decision to prioritize Rauf’s national prospects, considering him a valuable asset for Pakistan. Despite the setback, Qalandars remain resolute in their pursuit of strong performances in the remaining matches of PSL 2024.
