Australian all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell will miss the upcoming historic tour of Pakistan due to his wedding. He is all set to marry his fiancé Vini Raman in late March and will take a leave from cricket during that period. He is also expected to miss the initials of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

In this season’s IPL, There are chances that Maxwell might lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after Virat Kohli stepped down from the post. Hence, RCB would not want to miss his presence in the initial matches.

In November last year, Maxwell publicly stated that he will miss the Pakistan tour due to his wedding. For the first time this century, Australia who would be touring Pakistan are all set to play three Tests, ODIs, and a solitary T20I in Pakistan.

As the T20I would end on April 5, several other Australian cricketers like David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Marsh, and Pat Cummins might also have to miss the initial matches of IPL.

Maxwell said that the clash between his wedding and cricket duties was unavoidable due to constant changes in schedule. “Originally when I organized my dates with CA there was a two-week gap where I could potentially have it”, said the 33-year-old to Fox Cricket.

Maxwell also said that when he sorted that out, he was glad that he wasn’t going to miss any series.” And then I came to the CA contract meeting midway through last year and they said, this is [when] the Pakistan series [is on] and I thought obviously that changed since the last conversation we had”, he further said.
